FLORIDA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
ENDORSES STEVE OELRICH IN SENATE DISTRICT 14 |
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (June 27, 2006)—Today, the state's
largest business group, the Florida Chamber of Commerce
announced its endorsement of Steve Oelrich (R),
candidate for the Senate District 14 seat.
"The Florida Chamber is committed to supporting
candidates who will work to improve Florida's business
climate," said Frank Ryll, Jr., president, Florida
Chamber. "We are aware that many employers and
pro-business groups base their financial support of
candidates on our candidate interview criteria and
subsequent endorsements."
The Florida Chamber has endorsed Steve Oelrich for his
election in Senate District 14 and has provided him the
maximum contributions allowed under Florida law.
Steve Oelrich has been the Alachua County Sheriff for
over 14 years. Crime rates have plummeted year after
year under his administration of the Sheriff's Office.
Issues of great importance to Oelrich include growth
management, crime reduction and education.
"We use information collected during our candidate
interviews to find and endorse candidates who will
support job creation and economic growth," said Marian
Johnson, vice president of political strategy for the
Florida Chamber. "Steve's vast experience in law
enforcement will be an asset in Tallahassee, where he
will continue to fight for the future of Florida."
